PLoS has announced that from July 1, 2006, it will raise 
its publication fees to $2500 for its flagship journals, 
PLoS Biology, PLoS Medicine, and PLoS Clinical Trials. Its 
other 3 journals will charge $2000. The fees compare 
favorably with author fees for other journals and will more 
closely reflect the actual cost of publication.
