BioMed Central did a recent poll of 75 agencies that fund 
biomedical work. Of the 33 responders, 31 confirmed that 
they were willing to fund processing charges for open 
access publishing and more than half were signatories to 
international declarations in support of open access while 
others had their own official policy in support of the 
strategy.
